Hello and Happy New Year!
I don't normally make resolutions but I do resolve this year to keep up with my blog!
I have had so much fun in my craft room I cannot find a thing! Seriously! I am going to have to join in on the Get Organized Challenge again to get motivated so I will have more time to craft...
The holidays were wonderful! My son's daughters spent their Christmas vacation with us and just returned to school today. Elliott, our oldest grandchild, will be returning to boarding school on Sunday for his last semester of high school. We are anxiously awaiting to hear which college he will be attending - he is just undecided but leaning towards Rice, Duke, Georgia Tech or Vanderbilt. Our other two granddaughters are starting back homeschooling.
I wanted to share something different today. I made homemade soap as Christmas gifts. And today I decided to alter the soap for a swap. It was so much fun and reminds me of what we did as children with a bar of Ivory to give as gifts to our teachers.
I made the soap using supplies from Michael's and gave it a wonderful mint scent and mint color. After it cured I popped it out of the mold and wrapped it in lace as you would a present and secured it with crystal corsage pins. I added four pins to the bottom to give it "feet". I tied a gold ribbon around the bar and secured it with a corsage pin with added beads. I then hot glued the mint roses in three shades and finished it with a glittered glue butterfly. I hope my partner will enjoy it! ~ Gracie
